I wonder whether it talks about the River’s history, when it was an uber-polluted dumping ground (tanneries and such lined its banks) rescued by the creation of the Bronx River Parkway.
I think it’s still fairly polluted — at least if all the crap sitting on those silt bars is anything to go by. Do you know about the Bronx River Parkway Reservation Conservancy? They’re doing some interesting projects to try to improve things, pollution-related and otherwise:
