The Van Cordtlandt Park Thursday night 5K series has ended, alas. If you find yourself in severe 5K trail race withdrawal later this summer, you’re in luck. There’s a new trail race north of the city in Irvington. It takes place on Saturday, August 29 at 9:30AM at Irvington High School to benefit their XC team. More info here.

Somebody posted this to my NYC running calendar today too. Looks like a fun race. I like the way they made it donation-based. I bet they will raise more funds that way.
Robert — I sent the kid who contacted me to your site. I hope he gets some exposure that way. I probably won’t run it as it doesn’t fit in well with my training (plus I loathe 5Ks).
The purpose of the fund-raising is to get money to pay for an assistant coach who is otherwise being let go for budgetary reasons.
I hope to make it and ultimately to add some more trails to WestchesterTrails.
Looks like a fun course. It’d be a good test for your Mojo – I wonder how far she/he ends up running.
